# Cashback & Discount Extensions

This is one of those areas that new sellers often overlook because it feels small. It isn't. Stacking cashback and discount codes on top of your normal sourcing is one of the simplest ways to improve your margins without doing any extra work.

***

**How cashback works**

Cashback platforms pay you a percentage of your purchase back when you shop through their site or browser extension. You shop as normal, they track the sale, and a percentage comes back to you a few weeks later.

For personal shopping this is a nice bonus. For FBA sourcing where you might be spending hundreds or thousands of pounds on stock, it adds up quickly.

The two main platforms in the UK are:

**TopCashback** — one of the highest cashback rates in the UK across most retailers. You can withdraw via bank transfer, PayPal, or gift cards. Redeeming as gift cards often gives you a bonus on top — some retailers offer an extra 10 to 20% when you take your cashback as a voucher rather than cash.

**Quidco** — works in exactly the same way. Rates differ by retailer so it's worth checking both platforms before you buy to see which one is offering more on that particular site at that particular time.

Most experienced sellers have accounts on both and simply check which has the better rate before placing an order.

**Discount code extensions**

These browser extensions automatically find and apply discount codes at checkout. You don't have to do anything — they run in the background and try available codes when you reach the payment page.

Two worth installing:

* **Pouch** — popular in the UK, works across a wide range of retailers
* **Coupert** — similar functionality, good as a backup if Pouch doesn't find anything

Used alongside cashback, these can shave an extra 5 to 15% off your stock purchases on a good day.

***

**Why it compounds**

On its own, 5% cashback doesn't sound like much. But across £10,000 of stock purchases over a year that's an extra £500 in your pocket — on top of your normal profit. Stack that with discount codes bringing your buy price down, and you're meaningfully improving your ROI on every order without sourcing a single extra product.

It's not glamorous. It's just smart.

***

**One thing to be aware of**

Cashback occasionally doesn't track correctly — the platform doesn't register your purchase and the cashback doesn't appear in your account. This happens with most platforms occasionally. Both TopCashback and Quidco have a claims process for missing cashback — use it when it happens rather than just accepting the loss.
