# What is Amazon FBA?

Amazon FBA (Fulfilment by Amazon) is one of the more accessible ways to build a real income online. You don't need your own website, warehouse, or customer service team. But let's be straight with you from the start — it's not easy, and anyone telling you otherwise is probably trying to sell you something.

Here's how it works:

You find products that are selling on Amazon for more than you can buy them for elsewhere. You purchase that stock, send it into Amazon's warehouse, and Amazon handles the rest — storing it, packing it, shipping it to customers, and dealing with returns. Every time one of your items sells, you collect the profit.

Simple concept. Harder in practice.

**The honest version**

The sellers making consistent money from FBA aren't lucky. They're analysing products carefully, checking every fee, understanding the risks, and only buying stock they're confident will sell. That takes time to learn, and you will make mistakes along the way. Everyone does.

You'll also be playing by Amazon's rules — and Amazon changes those rules whenever they feel like it. Fees go up. Brands get restricted again after you've already bought stock. Items go missing in the warehouse. Listings get suppressed for no obvious reason. It's part of the game, and the sooner you accept that, the better prepared you'll be.

None of that means it isn't worth doing. It just means going in with realistic expectations.

**Where does the stock come from?**

Every day in the UK, products are available for less than they're currently selling for on Amazon. This could be:

* A discounted toy in Tesco or Argos
* A branded beauty product on offer at Boots
* A board game trending before Christmas
* Stock bought directly from Amazon itself and resold at a higher price

These opportunities are called **leads** — and finding them, or being shown them, is where it all starts.
